ZAGREB, Sept 8 – The Fraktura publisher’s 7th World Literature Festival is taking place in Zagreb on September 8-14 and in Split on September 9-10, bringing more than 100 foreign and domestic guests, including award-winning Spanish author Fernando Aramburu, who opens the event on Sunday evening.
This year’s edition focuses on Spanish literature. The festival also includes several painting exhibitions and round tables.
Guests include Jorge Bucay of Argentina, David Lagercrantz of Sweden, Paul Beatty of the US, Lyudmila Ulitskaya of Russia, Leila Slimani of France, Srdjan Valjarevic of Serbia, Mojca Kumerdej of Slovenia as well as Croatian authors Julijana Adamovic, Jurica Pavicic, Marina Vujicic, Tomica Bjasic, Zvonko Makovic, Olja Savicevic Ivancevic, Nebojsa Lujanovic, Luiza Bouharaoua, Dinko Kreho, Marija Dejanovic, Ivana Sojat, Darko Cvijetic, Aleksandra Kardum, Tanja Mravak and Nada Topic.
The festival’s sponsors include the Croatian Culture Ministry, the City of Zagreb, the European Commission’s Creative Europe programme, the Austrian Cultural Forum Zagreb, the Goethe Institute Croatia and the French Institute in Croatia.
