ZAGREB, Sept 9 – The National Tourist Board (HTZ) has announced that 12 foreign journalists, bloggers and YouTubers from eight countries will be exploring Croatia’s nautical tourism product in the Sibenik archipelago on September 7-11 with a view to promoting Croatia as an attractive and quality nautical destination.
They come from the UK, Germany, France, Sweden, Norway, Hungary, Switzerland and Japan, and the HTZ says they have many followers and readers. Among them are Eleanor Rudd, a correspondent of the British website Metro.co.uk, which has more than 54 million readers monthly, and YouTuber Evan Edinger, who has almost 700,000 followers.
The HTZ has organised the visit as part of the “Croatia, Full of Islands to Discover” project, whereby it is promoting nautical tourism for the third year in a row.
This year, nearly three million overnight stays have been registered in boat chartering, up 3% on the year, HTZ director Kristjan Stanicic said in a press release.
The journalists, bloggers and YouTubers are expected to issue their features in newspapers and magazines and post them on blogs, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube.
