ZAGREB, Sept 11 – The eighth forum of Polish and Croatian regions will take place in Zielona Gora, Poland on September 12-14 and will focus on strategic development planning until 2030, innovation in the enterprise sector, digitisation of public administration, and public-private partnerships, the Croatian Association of Counties announced on Wednesday.
The associations of Polish voivodeships and Croatian counties are meeting for the eighth year in a row to exchange their experiences and discuss the future of European regions. The topics of this year’s conference follow up on the conclusions of last year’s forum which took place in the northern Adriatic resort town of Porec.
Croatian and Polish regions began their cooperation in 2011 when Jacek Protas, the then Marshal of Mazowieckie Voivodeship, invited representatives of Croatian counties to discuss making common policies.
With Croatia’s entry into the European Union in mid-2013 the need for learning from examples of good practice became even more prominent and Poland was a natural model in that regard, the Croatian Association of Counties said.
