€19.5 mn new road in north Croatia open to traffic

ZAGREB, Oct 26 (Croatia Sun News) – A new 6.4-kilometre-long road section from Zlatar-Bistrica to Andrasevec was inaugurated at a ceremony on Friday, and the investment cost HRK 145 million.

Addressing the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic said that the new road would enable smoother traffic throughout this region and easier access to the nearby national Marian shrine of Marija Bistrica.

He said that the state-run HC road operator had invested about HRK 400 million in road construction in Krapina-Zagorje County in the last three years..

An additional HRK 100 million has been invested in road maintenance and repairs in the county.

Transport and Infrastructure Minister Oleg Butkovic said that currently HRK 20 billion of investments in transport infrastructure were being implemented across the country, which is also evident in economic growth.
