Stromar says teachers salaries to go up 8.24 pct over one year period

ZAGREB, Oct 31 (Croatia Sun News) – Deputy Prime Minister Predrag Stromar of the Croatian People’s Party (HNS) said before the government session on Thursday that teachers’ salaries would go up 8.24 percent over the next year.

“Teachers pays will rise 8.24 percent in the next one year period,” Stromar told the press.

Asked if his HNS party considered this a failure because the party asked for a six percent increase but they got a two percent increase through job complexity indices, Stromar reiterated that the increase would be 8.24 percent.

Commenting on criticism from unions which asked the HNS who authorised the party to negotiate on their behalf, Stromar said he was not interested in union leaders and he cared for teachers.
