Croatia’s first geothermal power plant inaugurated

ZAGREB, Nov 19 (Croatia Sun News) – Croatia’s first geothermal power plant and the largest such plant in continental Europe using binary technology was formally opened on Tuesday in Ciglena, outside Bjelovar, about 90 kilometres northeast of Zagreb.

Construction of new building housing Bjelovar General Hospital to cost €36.6 m

ZAGREB, Nov 14 (Croatia Sun News) – The management of the general hospital in the city of Bjelovar, 80 kilometres east of Zagreb, has opted for an offer of HRK 272 million for the construction of the new hospital building, and the bidder is the Krizevci-based Radnik company.

EU invests in Croatia’s water and wastewater infrastructure

ZAGREB, Nov 5 (Croatia Sun News) – The European Commission has approved two cohesion projects, together worth €156.6 million from the Cohesion Fund, to upgrade water and wastewater infrastructure in Croatia, the Commission stated in a press release on Monday.

€6.7 m regional fruit & vegetable distribution centre to be built in Osijek

ZAGREB, Nov 4 (Croatia Sun News) – Osijek-Baranja County head Ivan Anusic on Tuesday presented project documentation for a HRK 50 million regional fruit and vegetable distribution centre, to be built in the Osijek suburb of Nemetin, with the help of money from EU funds.
