Zagreb firefighters make 544 interventions due to earthquake

ZAGREB, March 25 (Croatia Sun News) – From Sunday morning to Wednesday afternoon, Zagreb’s firefighters made 544 emergency interventions due to the earthquake which struck the capital, participating in six rescue operations and putting out 11 fires.

Surge in telecommunication traffic due to online classes, work at home, more calls

ZAGREB, 19 March (Croatia Sun News) – Telecoms in Croatia are registering a rise in traffic this week due to online classes starting, more people working at home, more calls being made, and an increase in using various services and applications, however, network capacities are large enough at the moment to handle increased traffic.

HEP Plin acquires two PPD gas supply companies for €10 m

ZAGREB, March 18 (Croatia Sun News) – Natural gas provider HEP Plin, a subsidiary company of the state-owned power provider HEP, has purchased natural gas suppliers PPD-Distribucija Plina (Gas Distribution) and PPD-Opskrba Kucanstva (Household Supply) from the Vukovar-based company Energia Naturalis.

€322m deal on upgrading rail from Krizevci to border with Hungary inked

ZAGREB, March 12 (Croatia Sun News) – The Croatian state-run HZ Infrastruktura company and the Turkish Cengiz Insaat Sanayi ve Ticaret signed a HRK 2.42 billion contract on the reconstruction and upgrade of a 42.6-kilometre-long railway from Krizevci via Koprivnica to the Croatian border with Hungary.
