Exhibition on Zagreb cathedral set up in the city’s library

ZAGREB, June 1 (Croatia Sun News) – An exhibition on the Zagreb Cathedral was set up in the Zagreb City Library auditorium on the occasion of Zagreb City Day in an effort to draw attention to the importance of this edifice and to inform about damage it suffered in earthquakes in 1880 and on March 22 this year.

EU Council adopts sets of conclusions on cultural heritage, media literacy

ZAGREB, May 28 (Croatia Sun News) – Under its Croatian Presidency, the Council of the European Union has adopted three sets of conclusions by written procedure regarding culture and audiovisual media. The adopted conclusions relate to risk management in the area of cultural heritage, media literacy in an ever-changing world, and conclusions amending the Work Plan for Culture (2019-2022).

MUO could reopen to public this autumn

ZAGREB, April 27 (Croatia Sun News) – The Museum of Arts and Crafts (MUO) in Zagreb is one of the museums most affected by the March 22 earthquake, but despite that the museum will not cancel its anniversary plans for 2020, and if all goes well, it will reopen this autumn, says the museum’s director, Miroslav Gasparovic.

Lipizzan horse breeding traditions proposed for UNESCO list

ZAGREB, March 30 (Croatia Sun News) – A request by eight countries for the Lipizzan Horse Breeding Traditions to be inscribed on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity was recently submitted, and the final decision will be made by UNESCO in 2021.
