International Children’s Festival to take place in Sibenik on 15-29 June

ZAGREB, June 9 – The 59th edition of the International Children’s Festival (MDF) in the coastal city of Sibenik will be held from 15 to 29 June and will feature 28 theatre plays and 52 other events to be staged in the city’s squares and streets.

Sibenik Theatre director Jakov Bilic said at a recent news conference that participants and performers come from 17 countries.

The 59th MDF will start with a rendition of the Jungle Book by the Baj Pomorski Theatre, a Polish puppet theatre. In order to remove the linguistic barrier for the audience, the play will include a narrator who will speak Croatian.

Bilic said that the festival would include more workshops than before.

The funds allocated for the festival amount to HRK 2.2 million.

The Sibenik MDF is a member of the International Festivals Association.
