Creation of underwater art installation begins

ZAGREB, Feb 24 (Croatia Sun News) – The construction of a stone structure for the permanent underwater art installation “Lautus”, by artist Nika Laginja, which is to be set in Volosko as part of the Lungomare Art flagship of the Rijeka – European Capital of Culture 2020 project, has begun at the Academy of Applied Arts in Rijeka, Rijeka 2020 has announced.

Dubrovnik maritime police rescue 36 migrants in Aegean Sea

ZAGREB, Feb 14 (Croatia Sun News) – Four Dubrovnik maritime police officers on Monday rescued 36 migrants in the Aegean Sea from an inflatable boat which had run out of fuel while monitoring the EU-Turkey border as part of Frontex’s Operation Poseidon, Dubrovnik county police said on Friday.

Four Croatian port authorities implementing infrastructure projects worth €30 m

ZAGREB, Jan 30 (Croatia Sun News) – The port authorities in four northern Adriatic counties – Cres, Crikvenica, Krk and Mali Losinj – are implementing five infrastructure projects financed from the EU Competitiveness and Cohesion Fund, whose total value exceeds HRK 222 million, Primorje-Gorski Kotar County Prefect Zlatko Komadina said on Wednesday.
