European Commission: Croatia meets commitments on migrants’ human rights

Cappelli will propose issuing 30,000 work permits for foreigners in tourism

ZAGREB, Nov 6 (Croatia Sun News) – Croatian Tourism Minister Gari Cappelli said on Tuesday that his ministry would soon forward a proposal to the government to okay a quota of 30,000 work permits for foreigners in the tourist sector in 2020.

Ten Syrian refugee families to be relocated to Karlovac

ZAGREB, Nov 5 (Croatia Sun News) – Ten Syrian families from the Kutina-based reception centre for asylum seekers will be given flats in Karlovac to use for a period of two years, and the Jesuit Refugee Service will be helping them with integration so that they can start providing for themselves later, according to the Jesuit Refugee Service.

Non-EU citizens come to Croatia mainly for employment reasons

ZAGREB, Nov 4 (Croatia Sun News) – Last year, the European Union issued 3.22 million residence permits for non-EU citizens and the figures show that a majority of those non-EU citizens who moved to Croatia in 2018 did it for employment reasons, the Vecernji List daily reported.
