Orbico and Gideon Brothers introduce autonomous mobile robots

ZAGREB, Sept 12 (Croatia Sun News) – The Orbico distributor company has launched a pilot project at its distribution centre in Ivanicgrad introducing collaborative autonomous mobile robots produced by Gideon Brothers, a Croatian company for robotics and artificial intelligence, Orbico and Gideon Brothers reported on Thursday.

Orbico will implement two robots to test different case scenarios using “on demand” commands issued by employees. That leading distributor of a wide range of consumer goods is also interested in testing integrated robots and their software for warehouse management, Orbico said in a press release.

Orbico Croatia employs 920 people. It has two distribution centres, eight warehouses and 12 depot sites with a total storage area of 54,000 square metres and a capacity of 50,000 palette slots.

The Orbico Group is the leading distributor for more than 500 brands with more than 170 suppliers and 80,000 buyers on 20 markets. It has recorded double digit growth and its annual revenue in 2019 is estimated at €2.3 billion.
